Isgec Heavy Engineering faces ₹3.2 million GST demand, penalty

Isgec Heavy Engineering Ltd said it has received an order from the Assistant Commissioner, Central Tax Division, Jagadhri, confirming a GST demand and penalty related to input tax credit.

The authority confirmed a demand of ₹1.6 million and imposed a penalty of ₹1.6 million, along with applicable interest. The order was received on Jan 07, 2026.

The department alleged that input tax credit was wrongly availed on invoices raised by a supplier. The total financial impact amounts to ₹3.2 million, excluding interest.

Isgec said it will file an appeal against the order under the Goods and Services Tax Act.
