GIC Re Extends Interim CMD Powers of Hitesh Joshi by Three Months

General Insurance Corporation of India said the government has approved an extension of interim financial and administrative powers entrusted to Hitesh Ramesh Chandra Joshi, Executive Director of GIC Re.

The Ministry of Finance, Department of Financial Services, has approved the extension of powers with effect from January 1, for a further period of three months, or until a regular chairman-cum-managing director is appointed, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The extension follows an earlier decision under which Joshi was entrusted with the powers and functions of CMD with effect from October 1, 2025 on an interim basis.

GIC Re said the approval has been conveyed by the government through its communication dated January 07. The company has shared Joshi’s brief profile with the exchanges in line with SEBI disclosure requirements.
