VE Commercial’s June CV Sales Slip 1% On Weak Domestic Demand

VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd., a joint venture between Eicher Motors Ltd. and Volvo Group, reported a 1% year-on-year dip in June sales to 7,363 units, as domestic despatches fell 2.5% to 6,722 units.

Sales of Eicher-branded vehicles declined 1.6% to 7,198 units. Small commercial vehicles grew 2%, but heavy-duty truck and LMD bus sales declined. Heavy-duty bus sales rose 37%.

Exports increased 13% on year to 476 units. Sales of Volvo-branded vehicles surged 50% to 165 units. Total CV sales in April–June rose 10% on year to 21,610 units.
