UTI AMC June Profit Surges 74% on Fair Value Gains

UTI Asset Management Co. Ltd. reported a 74% sequential rise in standalone net profit to ₹2.16 billion for the June quarter, driven by strong revenue growth and a surge in fair value gains.

Net gain on fair value changes rose 13-fold to ₹1.15 billion. Core profit after tax—excluding mark-to-market gains, income from sale of investments, and other non-operating income—stood at ₹118 million, up 9% on quarter and 19% on year.

Total revenue rose 38% sequentially to ₹4.36 billion, while expenses inched up 3% to ₹1.53 billion. A 17% decline in other expenses to ₹352 million helped contain cost growth. Tax outgo stood at ₹682.1 million, up 52% on quarter.

UTI AMC’s assets under management stood at ₹21.93 trillion as of June 30, with 65% under portfolio management schemes. AUM under equity schemes rose 7.1% on year to ₹949 billion, and index and ETF AUM increased 22% to ₹1.56 trillion. Gross inflows through SIPs during the quarter totalled ₹22.6 billion, pushing total SIP AUM to ₹422 billion.
