Power Grid Wins Bid for Inter-State Transmission Project in Uttar Pradesh

Power Grid Corp. of India Ltd. on Friday said it has been declared the successful bidder to develop an inter-state transmission system for evacuating power from pumped storage projects in Sonbhadra district, Uttar Pradesh.

In an exchange filing, the company said it received a letter of intent on Thursday and secured the project under tariff-based competitive bidding on a build, own, operate and transfer basis.

The project includes the establishment of a new 765/400 kilovolt pooling sub-station, bay extension works at other upcoming substations, and 765 kilovolt transmission line works in the state, Power Grid said.
