Poonawalla Fincorp Launches Shopkeeper Loan to Support Small Retailers

Poonawalla Fincorp Ltd. has launched a new shopkeeper loan product to support small retailers and kirana stores with tailored credit solutions, the company said in an exchange filing on Tuesday.

The move is aimed at addressing financial challenges faced by small businesses and improving their operational efficiency and competitiveness, the company said.

In the first phase, the lender is rolling out the offering across 44 locations while putting in place systems to ensure a customer-focused approach. This marks the company’s fourth new business launch in recent months.

India's small retailers are a vital part of the economy but often struggle with limited access to credit, said Arvind Kapil, managing director and chief executive officer. The new product is designed to bridge this gap by supporting working capital requirements and long-term resilience, he said.
