Cochin Shipyard In MoU With South Korea’s HD Korea Shipbuilding 

Cochin Shipyard Ltd. on Friday announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding with HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co. Ltd., marking a strategic partnership aimed at long-term cooperation in shipbuilding and maritime development.

The agreement sets the stage for collaboration on enhancing productivity, improving capacity utilisation, and working together on future shipbuilding projects both in India and abroad, the Indian shipbuilder said in an exchange filing.

The companies will also share technical expertise to scale up to global standards. The MoU aligns with India’s push to boost maritime infrastructure, especially through initiatives like the ₹250 billion maritime development fund aimed at strengthening shipbuilding, port modernisation, and related sectors.
