Bharti Airtel, Tata Group End Talks On DTH Merger

Bharti Airtel Ltd. said late Saturday it has mutually ended talks with the Tata group over a possible merger of Tata Play Ltd.'s direct-to-home business with Bharti Telemedia Ltd., a subsidiary of the telecom company.

The discussions were called off after both sides failed to reach a satisfactory resolution, the company said in an exchange filing.

On February 26, Bharti Airtel had announced it was in talks with the Tata group to explore combining their DTH businesses.
