Alok Industries Narrows Loss In April-June Despite Revenue Dip

Alok Industries Ltd. narrowed its net loss to ₹1.76 billion in April–June from ₹1.98 billion a year earlier, helped by lower expenditure and a one-time gain during the period.

Revenue fell 8.7% on year to ₹8.85 billion, and was down 3.1% sequentially. In the March quarter, the company had reported a net loss of ₹677.5 million.

Total expenditure, including finance cost, dropped to ₹10.93 billion from ₹11.71 billion a year ago. Finance cost remained steady at ₹1.52 billion compared with ₹1.53 billion.

Other income rose to ₹61.1 million from ₹52.8 million, and the company booked a one-time gain of ₹256 million in the quarter.
