ACC Profit Rises 4% Despite Higher Tax, Stock-in-Trade Costs

ACC Ltd. reported a 4% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to ₹3.75 billion for the June quarter, though profit declined 50% sequentially due to a sharp rise in tax expenses and stock-in-trade costs.

Revenue rose 18% on year to ₹60.36 billion, the company’s strongest growth in 16 quarters, and was broadly flat compared with the previous quarter.

Cement revenue stood at ₹57.15 billion, up nearly 17%, while revenue from readymix concrete rose 27% to ₹4.16 billion. Clinker and cement sales volumes grew 12% on year to 11.5 million tonnes, the company’s highest-ever volume for an April–June quarter.

Operating EBITDA rose to ₹7.78 billion, from ₹6.79 billion a year ago. The operating EBITDA margin narrowed by 30 basis points to 12.8%.
