Larsen & Toubro Limited has secured a fresh tranche of engineering, procurement, and construction mandates classified as "Major" for its Power Transmission & Distribution vertical, according to a regulatory filing submitted to stock exchanges.

According to the classification matrix of the company's, "Major" orders are defined as those valued between ₹50 billion and ₹100 billion.

The company’s PT&D business secured an order to design, supply, and construct two 220 kV Gas Insulated Substations in the Durgapur–Raniganj–Asansol industrial belt of West Bengal. The scope of work includes setting up associated transmission line segments utilising advanced conductors and multi-circuit towers.

Internationally, L&T secured turnkey construction orders from key utilities in the Middle East. These mandates cover five substations and more than 250 kilometres of transmission lines. The projects are spread across three different countries in the region and involve voltage levels up to 500 kV. Specifically, the scope for one of these projects includes the supply and installation of a 400 kV underground cable system.
