Tata Steel reported its highest-ever annual crude steel production in India at 23.5 million tonnes for 2025-2026, driven by capacity ramp-up and steady demand across key segments.
India production rose 8% year-on-year, supported by the ramp-up at Kalinganagar, although partly impacted by a blast furnace shutdown at Jamshedpur. For January–March, production stood at 6.3 million tonnes, up 15% compared with the same period last year.
Deliveries in India also hit a record 22.5 million tonnes for the full year, in line with production growth. Domestic deliveries crossed 20.0 million tonnes for the first time, reflecting strong market demand. In the fourth quarter, deliveries rose 10% year-on-year to 6.2 million tonnes, marking a record quarterly performance.
Across segments, automotive and special products volumes reached around 3.4 million tonnes for the year, while branded products and retail volumes stood at about 7.3 million tonnes. Industrial products and projects contributed roughly 7.2 million tonnes, supported by growth in engineering and infrastructure-linked segments.
The company’s downstream businesses, including tubes, tinplate and coated products, reported double-digit growth, while its e-commerce platforms recorded gross merchandise value of ₹93.6 billion, up 161% year-on-year.
In Europe, Tata Steel Netherlands reported production of 6.7 million tonnes and deliveries of 6.1 million tonnes for the year. Fourth-quarter deliveries rose 21% sequentially to 1.7 million tonnes.
Tata Steel UK deliveries stood at 2.2 million tonnes for 2025-2026, lower year-on-year due to weak market conditions. The company is progressing with the development of a 3.0 million tonnes per annum electric arc furnace at Port Talbot.
In Thailand, production stood at 1.3 million tonnes, while deliveries reached 1.3 million tonnes, up 11% year-on-year, driven by strong domestic demand.
