The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, or CCEA, on Tuesday approved an increase of ₹72 per 100 kg in the Minimum Support Price for common paddy for the 2026-27 Kharif marketing season, taking the procurement price to ₹2,441 per 100 kg from ₹2,369 a year ago. MSP for Grade A paddy was raised by ₹72 to ₹2,461 per 100 kg.
The government also approved higher MSPs for 12 other Kharif crops, with the sharpest absolute increase announced for sunflower seed at ₹622 per 100 kg, followed by cotton at ₹557, nigerseed at ₹515 and sesamum at ₹500 per 100 kg, according to an official statement after the Cabinet meeting.
Revised MSPs for Kharif Marketing Season 2026-27:
The government said the MSP hikes are in line with the Union Budget 2018-19 commitment to fix support prices at least 1.5 times the all-India weighted average cost of production.
