The Western Union Company and HCL Technologies on Tuesday announced the launch of a Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad aimed at supporting Western Union’s transformation efforts through AI-led innovation, a platform-based operating model, and enhanced engineering capabilities, the company informed exchanges in a press release.
Devin McGranahan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Western Union, and C. Vijayakumar, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of HCLTech, inaugurated the center. Senior leaders from both organisations attended the launch, the company said.
The Hyderabad facility will operate alongside the existing Pune Tech Center and the combined operations will serve as a global hub for technology, engineering, and operations, it added.
The mandate for the GCC includes driving next-generation payments infrastructure, enhancing digital consumer experiences, and building capabilities utilising HCLTech’s AI-powered solutions, specifically AI Force.
