Torrent Green Energy Wins Bid For 300-MW Interstate Wind Project

Torrent Power Ltd. on Thursday said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Torrent Green Energy Pvt. Ltd., has won a bid to develop a 300-megawatt interstate transmission system wind power project, at an estimated cost of ₹26.5 billion.

The company received the letter of award from Solar Energy Corp. of India following competitive bidding, Torrent Power said in an exchange filing.

The award covers two projects totalling 175 MW and 125 MW. Torrent Power will supply 300 MW of power at a tariff of ₹3.97 per kilowatt hour.

The project is slated for commissioning within 24 months from the signing of the power purchase agreement and will run for 25 years from the commissioning date, the company said.
