Tata Power on Monday said its subsidiary, Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd., has signed a power purchase agreement with Tata Motors to jointly develop a 131-MW hybrid wind-solar project.
The project is expected to generate around 300 million units of clean electricity every year, the company said in an exchange filing.
The integrated hybrid setup will supply green and cost-effective power to six Tata Motors manufacturing units in Maharashtra and Gujarat, supporting both commercial and passenger vehicle production.
With this agreement, Tata Power Renewable Energy’s total group captive capacity will rise to over 1.5 GW. The initiative also advances Tata Motors’ clean energy transition, helping it move closer to meeting its 100% renewable energy target ahead of 2030.
