Tata Motors Sees Broad-Based Decline In June

Tata Motors Ltd. posted a sharp decline in domestic passenger vehicle despatches in June, the steepest drop since April 2023, amid sluggish industry demand. April–June sales fell 10% on year to 123,839 units.

June despatches, including electric vehicles, dropped 15% on year to 37,237 units. Yet, EV sales rose 12% to 5,228 units, the fastest pace since February 2023. Exports in June rose to 154 units from 100 a year ago. Total April–June exports increased 68% on year to 970 units.

In commercial vehicles, June despatches fell over 5% on year to 30,238 units, marking the 13th straight monthly decline. Domestic sales dropped 9% to 27,936 units. HCV sales fell 17%, while SCV-PU sales declined 9%. Bus and van segments posted modest growth. April–June CV sales were down 6% on year at 85,606 units.

Overall, June domestic wholesale despatches declined 12% on year to 65,019 units. Including exports, Tata Motors sold 210,415 vehicles in the first quarter of 2025–26, down over 8% on year.
