NHPC Ltd. on Wednesday said its board has approved raising up to ₹20 billion in 2025-26 through the issue of unsecured, redeemable, taxable, non-convertible, non-cumulative bonds. The move is part of its funding strategy for the upcoming financial year.
Additionally, the board has cleared the development of a 1,200-megawatt solar park in Uttar Pradesh by its subsidiary Bundelkhand Saur Urja Ltd., at an estimated cost of ₹7.97 billion. This includes ₹426.90 million as interest during construction and an equity investment of ₹2.39 billion by NHPC in the joint venture.
Bundelkhand Saur Urja is a joint venture between NHPC and the Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency.
