IRFC Signs ₹164.9 Billion Loans for Power Projects in Maharashtra, Haryana

Indian Railway Finance Corp. Ltd. on Monday said it has signed loan agreements with the Haryana and Maharashtra governments for two power projects, with combined financing of ₹164.89 billion.

IRFC will provide up to ₹105.60 billion to Maharashtra State Power Generation Co. Ltd. for the 1,320-megawatt supercritical expansion at Koradi Thermal Power Station in Nagpur. The project is seen as key to ensuring reliable power for Maharashtra’s industrial and agricultural consumers.

The company will also finance up to ₹59.29 billion for Haryana Power Generation Corp. Ltd.’s 800-megawatt supercritical thermal power project at Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant in Yamunanagar. Haryana Power Generation is the state’s main power generation company.
