CG Power Gets Stay on ₹4.68 Billion Tax Demand

CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. said its application for a stay on a ₹4.68 billion tax demand has been accepted by the Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax in Mumbai. The demand order relates to the 2021–22 assessment year, the company said in an exchange filing on Saturday.

The commissioner has directed the company to make staggered deposits until its appeal before the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal is resolved. CG Power must pay ₹100 million each on the 25th of every month until October, followed by ₹60 million each on November 25 and December 25.

The balance 20% of the disputed amount will be payable as a sixth instalment on or before January 25, 2026, subject to conditions in the order.
