CESC Ltd. on Tuesday said the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission has approved a power purchase agreement between Tata Power Co. Ltd. and its wholly-owned subsidiary Dhariwal Infrastructure Ltd.
Tata Power has entered into an agreement to procure 75 megawatts of firm power from Dhariwal’s coal-based plant in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, which is connected to the state transmission utility.
The agreement, which has been finalised through a competitive bidding process, will be effective from May 1 through April 30, 2027, the company stated in a stock exchange filing.
