Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Oil India Ltd. to explore collaboration for its upcoming greenfield refinery and petrochemical complex near Ramayapatnam port in Andhra Pradesh, the company said in a statement.
The facility will have a refining capacity of 9–12 million tonnes per annum at an estimated investment of ₹1 trillion and is expected to begin commercial operations by 2029–2030 April–March. The agreement also includes the possibility of Oil India taking a minority equity stake in the project. The Andhra Pradesh government has granted statutory clearances and allotted 6,000 acres of land for the complex.
BPCL has also signed a memorandum of understanding with Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd. for the supply and trading of fermented organic manure and liquid fermented organic manure, which will be produced from BPCL’s municipal solid waste-based compressed biogas plant near its Kochi refinery.
