Bharat Dynamics’ Net Profit Falls Despite Strong Revenue Growth

Bharat Dynamics Ltd.’s net profit declined 5.5% year on year to ₹2.73 billion in the March quarter, even as revenue more than doubled. Sequentially, profit jumped 85%.

Revenue grew 108% to ₹17.77 billion, marking the fastest growth in 11 quarters and more than doubling from the previous quarter.

However, expenses rose faster, pushing down profits. Total expenses surged 170% year on year to ₹14.98 billion, driven mainly by higher material and other costs.

Material costs rose 122% to ₹13.90 billion, while other expenses jumped 190% to ₹2.88 billion. Employee benefits expense fell 10.3% to ₹1.38 billion.

For the full year 2024-25, net profit fell 10.3% to ₹5.50 billion, while revenue rose 41% to ₹33.45 billion.

The company’s board declared a final dividend of ₹0.65 per share.
