Bajaj Auto June Two-Wheeler Despatches Hit 3-Month Low, Exports Gain

Bajaj Auto Ltd. saw its two-wheeler despatches in India decline to a three-month low of 149,317 units in June, a 16% drop year-on-year. 

However, exports rose to a three-month high of 149,167 units. Including three-wheelers, total wholesale volumes in June stood flat at 360,806 units, missing Nomura’s forecast of a 3% rise. 

Combined two-wheeler sales, domestic and overseas, fell nearly 2% YoY to 298,484 units, a reversal from May’s 9% growth. Domestic sales, including both segments, dropped 13% to 188,460 units, while exports grew 21% to 172,346 units. 

Commercial vehicle performance was stronger, with three-wheeler sales rising 14% YoY to 62,322 units, led by a 49% jump in exports to 23,179 units. For the April–June quarter, the company dispatched 1.1 million units, up 1% YoY, with domestic despatches down 8% and exports up 16%.
