ACME Solar Holdings Ltd. on Wednesday said it has secured two battery energy storage system projects from NHPC Ltd. in Andhra Pradesh, with a combined capacity of 275 megawatts. The projects are located at Kuppam and Ghani, the company said in an exchange filing.
ACME Solar will be eligible for viability gap funding of ₹2.7 million per megawatt-hour or 30% of the total project cost, whichever is lower.
The Kuppam project, with 50 MW capacity, was awarded at a tariff of ₹210,000 per megawatt per month, while the 225 MW Ghani project was bid at ₹222,000 per megawatt per month.
The bids were part of NHPC’s February-issued tender to ramp up energy storage capacity in the state.
